HASSALO ON EIGHTH- PORTLAND, OR

10TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT FOR RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY

Art Direction, Visual Design, Campaign Direction, Experiential Design, Social Media

The tenth Anniversary for this urban highrise is a big deal. Not only because a decade in operation is substantial, but also because the neighborhood around Hassalo is progressing, and becoming the new hotspot in Portland. To keep the event fresh and stylish, the promo design offered a simple white and black color palette so the large charcuterie spread could take the color spotlight.

The Problem: The 10th Anniversary is highly anticipated, and on a budget of 20k, it is imperative to keep the numbers intact while providing the most memorable, and beautiful experience possible. Cost of catering is first on the list, and the charcuterie spread serves as an event focal point. Beyond food, finding vendors to decorate, pour at the Wine Bar, provide live music, photo-ops, and a quality, themed party favor are next to tackle.

The Solution: Once all vendors are in place, the fun begins planning engaging activities for the event, like lanterns to be released from the 21st floor rooftop event space. The resident gift was a custom engraved charcuterie board that served as a plate for the function. Providing on-site printing for photo strips with a stunning black, white, and silver backdrop gave the event a remarkable novelty to take home along with the board. Of course small details like napkins, branded to-go boxes, and the choice of PDX blues legend Dan Balmer for ambient background music made the entire experience unforgettable.
