OREGON HUMANE SOCIETY- PORTLAND, OR
Pride Celebration + Pet Adoption + Drag Entertainment
Art Direction, Visual Design, Campaign Direction, Experiential Design, Social Media
Pets + Pride and a little sprinkle of fabulousness with a Pet Adoption Campaign and Drag Show baked together. Using Oregon Humane Society’s brand colors made an easy slide into creative assets for Pride. Darcelle’s finest Queens headline the family event in order to draw potential adopters, and celebrate Pride month in style.
The Problem: Pet adoption events are hard to anticipate success, even if there are prizes and discounts on adoption fees. Drawing in a crowd to ensure maximum adoptions hinges on the engagement of the event itself. Building a stage, welcome archway and pet photography stations would need to blend the promo assets from the posters into the atmosphere.
The Solution: Pride month and Drag is big in Portland, OR. Combining the two makes a perfect template for colorful visuals and engaging entertainment. Hosts like PDX’s Poison Waters keep the activities moving with style and humor, so the adoption team can focus on pairing animals with potential homes. Integrating a pet Drag photo-op is another highlight of the event, giving adopted pets a layer of glamour and capturing their photo by a professional photographer in front of the event’s branding assets sets the whole experience apart.
Animals who don’t mind get dressed up get to participate in a Drag fashion show on stage.
Each adopted animal gets a professional photograph in their snatched accessories for their new fur parent’s to keep as a novelty. The incentives drive up adoption outcomes, and bring focus to Pride month in the most colorful, sparkly manner.
